Framed Leaves
Soft green walls and a white-painted floor give the master bedroom in this Connecticut farmhouse a soothing appearance. A collection of framed 19th-century pressed leaves and flowers substitute for a traditional headboard.
Fresh Green Kitchen
The owners of this Connecticut farmhouse borrowed from the verdant outdoors when creating the palette for the kitchen, hand-mixing the green paint used on the trim, work island, and some cabinet doors. Old chestnut boards reclaimed from the attic pave the room's floor.
Eclectic Kitchen
In a house without a dining room, the kitchen does double duty. To distinguish the room, the homeowners chose bold black cabinetry and white marble counters. In lieu of upper cabinets, they created an arrangement of vintage state plates set against a white wall. A circular window was added, which replicates one on the front of the house.
Modern English Country Living Room
In a nod to English country style, the green living room in this renovated Catskills schoolhouse is filled with antiques, sculptural furniture pieces, and botanical patterns and prints on the walls. For a twist on the classic look, decidedly off-beat pieces, including silver scallop sconces, giraffe-print pillows, and a tropical-inspired chandelier were added.
