Take a look at our quick guide to improving the germination process.
This quick guide is a great way to ensure you get the most out of your collected seeds.
1. Germinate
To germinate wattle seed, pour boiling water on it. Cool, then sow one seed per pot.
2. Soak
Place seed of cold-loving plants, such as maples or junipers, in a jar of water. Store in the fridge for 6–8 weeks before sowing.
3. Sand
Rub hard-coated seeds, such as sweet peas, on sandpaper to improve germination.
Tip
Label jars of seeds with the plant name and when the seed was treated.
